Explore is a special playlist mode in Fall Guys. It is a permanent game that was introduced in the Fall Forever Update on 7 May 2024.

Additional information

Explore features a pseudo-infinite selection of Creator-made Levels that can be played endlessly. Levels are selected by an ever-growing algorithm, meaning newly-created and most-liked Levels have a high chance to be featured in Explore.

In Explore, COURSE and POINTS Levels have a 30-minute timer and allow everyone to qualify. However, in SURVIVAL Levels, the qualification percentage and timer will depend on the value set by the Level's creator. After completing a Level, players will load into the next Level automatically, meaning they don't have to spectate others for a long time. Players can also hold the designated button for 1 second to skip Levels that they don't enjoy and immediately hop into the next one.

Rewards such as Fame and Crown Shards are ready to be collected based on how many Levels you have completed, meaning Players can progress through the Fame Pass, Crown Rank and complete Challenges in Explore. Players will be rewarded 500, 5, and 30 when they qualify in any Level, or 200 when they get eliminated. If players' Fame Pass is maxed out, the fame reward for qualifying will be replaced by 3, makes players can get 8 per Level, or 1 when they get eliminated. Skipped Levels do not grant any rewards.

Additionaly, if you are playing Explore in a party and you are the party hoster. If party members are still in a Explore game, you cannot change other gamemodes in Game Selector except other gamemodes like Explore.

FTUE/Tutorial Version

Explore had a separate FTUE version. This version still followed the standard Explore format, but instead contained a set pool of only 15 Levels. Similar to different Skill-based matchmaking buckets in Solos, the FTUE version would be chosen when players' skill score was too low. If their skill score was high enough, they would return to the normal Explore roundpool. As of the Ranked Knockout Update, Skill Based Matchmaking has been disabled in Explore, making this roundpool inaccessible.

Game Changes

As of 18 June 2024, the following changes were applied to the game:

Skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) was enabled.
- This change has been reverted in a content update a day later, before being reenabled on 7 August 2024.
The maximum amount of players was increased from 10 to 20.
The qualification percentage in SURVIVAL Level has been increased to 25%.

As of 28 October 2024, the following changes were applied to the game:

The qualification percentage in SURVIVAL Levels are dependant on the value set by the creator.
A timer will always be displayed during the whole duration of a SURVIVAL Level.

As of 1 April 2025, the following change was applied to the game:

Skill-based Matchmaking (SBMM) was disabled.

Known Bugs

Force Spectating*: As of the Scrapyard Stumble Update, if players skip any Level by using the Skip Level button and then they qualify in the next Level, they cannot do anything but spectating others until Level over. If this issue happened, players can only restart the game to resolve.

This has been fixed as of the November '24 Update.

Fake Ready*: As of the July '24 Update, when all players in your party qualify a level before other players, and then all other players have qualified during finding next level, preparation for players in your party will be cancelled automatically, but the party hoster cannot notice that and still showing they are continuing finding next level.

*This name is a conjectural name and has not been somewhat uniformly agreed upon.

Trivia

In the Game Summary part of the result screen, players will only see Levels they have qualified from.
- Rewards from Levels players have gotten eliminated in will still be calculated and shown in the Game Rewards tab.
- The icon for Block Party is seen on every medal regardless of its Level type.
The icon for Jump Club and Slime Climb appears in Level's intro.
Despite Hit Parade being the fallback Level, if players end up getting it as fallback (which is a rare occasion), they will simply be disconnected.
As of 31 March 2025, all players had been dropped into the FTUE version of Explore. As the skill-based matchmaking is disabled in Explore starting from the Ranked Knockout Update, it might because Mediatonic was updating Skill-based Matchmaking system to fit the new Ranked Knockout game. As of the update’s release, SBMM has been disabled in Explore.
Explore has a 20-player maximum limit, so for Creative Levels that set to below 20-players max, they cannot be played in this mode to prevent players overlap in a spawnpoint.
On 29 October 2025, Explore was temporarily removed from the Game Selector due to some issues with Creative Levels.
- This change was reverted less than an hour later.
