Fall Guys (formerly Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout) is a free-to-play platform battle royale game. Players are invited to clumsily compete in absurd obstacle courses with friends or build their very own chaotic courses to share with the community.

Developed by Mediatonic, published by Devolver Digital and Epic Games.

Gameplay

Up to thirty-two players each participate as a Fall Guy in games by qualifying from various levels in a selected playlist until they reach the final. Each level has a different objective, accompanied by its own obstacles and layout.

If a player is successful in the final, they win the game. Winning a game rewards the player with UI currency crowns 1080p Crowns or UI currency shards 1080p Crown Shards which are used to progress in the Crown Rank.

Fall Guys Creative

Fall Guys Creative is a level editor that allows players to create their own custom levels and share them with the wider community. Levels that Mediatonic (under Fall Guys Team) and players create can be played through games such as Explore, Creator Spotlight, Discovery or Custom Games. Fall Guys Creative was first announced in The Big Announcement on May 2022 and was released in Season 4.

The Fall Guys Creative level editor is not currently available on mobile devices, but all levels created in this tool are playable on every platform.

Story

Lore in Fall Guys is often revealed through various cinematic trailers. They typically feature the main character Pink and their best friend Clovis, along with Showrunners Silent, Banana and Digi.

Release information

Fall Guys was initially announced at E3 2019.[1]. The game was released 4 August 2020 for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC on Steam.

On 21 June 2022, the game was released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC on the Epic Games Store. The game was removed from the Steam Marketplace on the same day.

On 16 August 2024, the game was released for Android (Worldwide) and iOS (European Union Only), with further mobile releases planned for 2025 and beyond. In the same month of said year, it got added to the Fortnite library.

On 5 June 2025, the Nintendo Switch 2 released, with Fall Guys being supported via Backwards Compatibility. 60 FPS support was added with the Tropical Tides Update.

About the Developers

Mediatonic is a game development studio based in London, Leamington and Brighton in the United Kingdom, and Madrid in Spain.[2] Notable past games by Mediatonic include Fable Fortune, Hatoful Boyfriend, Murder by Numbers, and YAHTZEE® With Buddies. On 2 March 2021, it was announced that Mediatonic had been acquired by Epic Games.[3]
