Fall Guys, also referred to as Beans, are the main playable characters and mascots of Fall Guys.

About

They are very cute and chubby creatures with a keen, mischievous, optimistic, determined and light-hearted personality. One Fall Guy is assigned to a player when they create an account - that Fall Guy is exclusively yours, and they remember all the wins and losses that had come between the both of you, according to the lore.

In Fortnite, Fall Guys (also referred to as 'Bean Bods')^[1] are merely a morph of a player's Outfit during Fortnite x Fall Guys experiences, where they retain the common characteristics of a regular Fall Guy, accompanied with the personality of their respective Fortnite counterpart.

Appearance

Fall Guys are bean-shaped, roughly humanoid creatures. They have two arms with four-fingered hands, and two stubby legs. A Fall Guy's face appears to be slightly pushed into the body, and consists of a simple circle with two pill-shaped eyes.

Fall Guys are highly customizable. Their bodies, faces, and even eyes can be made a variety of colors, and many unique patterns can be applied to their bodies. Fall Guys wear a wide variety of costumes, ranging from simple clothing options to extravagant outfits, including those based on various intellectual properties.

The anatomy of a Fall Guy is somewhat unclear, as official sources have provided contrasting interpretations. One Tweet infamously depicts a Fall Guy as 183 centimeters (6 feet) tall, containing a frighteningly detailed skeleton like that of a distorted human. Alternatively, another Tweet provides a more "pleasant" interpretation, where a Fall Guy is shown as only knee-height, weighing as much as an average pillow, with a whimsical, magical internal anatomy. One official fact is that Fall Guys can absorb food through their feet, due to lacking a mouth to consume anything with. Overall, the size and anatomy of a Fall Guy are unimportant to the game itself, and is thus left up to interpretation.

Behavior

Fall Guys are nearly always seen competing in the Blunderdome, taking part in the various games available in the hopes of winning Crowns. They are able to walk, run, jump a short height, dive (even in midair), use power-ups, and grab objects in their environment. They can grab other Fall Guys, keeping them in place briefly; items such as eggs and Pegwins, picking them up and carrying them; and ledges, allowing them to pull themselves up.

Fall Guys make muffled "woo"-like noises to express themselves, such as when excited, surprised, or disappointed. They can also perform various emotes to express themselves. As Fall Guys are individual members of their species, their personalities vary. However, a Tweet describes them as generally "keen, optimistic, mischievous, determined, and light-hearted".

Trivia

An interview with designer Joe Walsh revealed various aspects about the nature of Fall Guys. It should be noted, however, that the information in this interview is from 2020, and much, if not all of it, could have been retconned, or will be retconned in the future. The joking tone of the interview also may indicate it should not be taken seriously.
Outside of the various creatures seen in the Season 3 trailer, Fall Guys seem to be the only non-artificial beings found in the Blunderdome, as the various animals seen in the game are notably mechanical.
While Fall Guys make indecipherable muffled sounds which correlate to no clear language, they appear to have a level of intelligence, communicating in the written Foolish language and conveying the status of various objects in their environment through stickers and Jumbotrons.
- However, through a translating device, Digi was able to convert her "woo"-like noises to a clear fluent English, suggesting that there is an extent of logic behind a Fall Guy's speech, even if basic.
