Backgrounds, also known as skyboxes, are features of each Level in Fall Guys.
Legacy Seasons 1 - 3
Season 1 (Legacy), Season 2 (Legacy) and Season 3 (Legacy) all have similar backgrounds. These backgrounds come in three different varieties: Sky, Lake and Floor:
- Sky is the one in which most COURSE levels take place, it takes place way up in the sky.
- Lake is the one in which most SURVIVAL levels take place, it takes place above a Slime lake.
- The one in Season 3 (Legacy) is mostly frozen over, only leaving a small area of slime.
- Floor is the least used one, mostly being used for TEAM levels, it is similar to Lake, but instead of Slime, it is just a large field.
Legacy Seasons 4 - 6
The remaining Legacy Seasons only have two backgrounds each, all of them have the Sky and Lake Backgrounds, but are missing the Floor Background:
- Season 4 (Legacy)'s Sky Background has some futuristic buildings poking above the clouds. The Lake Background is closer to the ground, giving a better look at the futuristic city.
- Season 5 (Legacy)'s Sky Background is surrounded by ancient mossy ruins with Fall Guy statues and waterfalls. The Lake Background is in the midst of a Jungle, with the slime in the lake being replaced by water.
- Season 6 (Legacy)'s Sky Background is similar to the first two Seasons, as it is the familiar Mountains, but now with large Balloons suspended in the air and a rollercoaster down below. The Lake Background is in the center of a carnival, with pool floaties in the lake.
Season 1 - 3
The Symphony Seasons all have three Backgrounds, but only Season 3 actually has all three of them for it's Core Levels. Both Season 1 and Season 2 only have two Backgrounds that adhere to the Season they're in.
- Season 1's main Backgrounds both take place in the main stadium called the "Blunderdome", the Sky version of the Background has floating stands way up in the sky, while the Lake version has a grounded version of the stadium filled with slime. Both Backgrounds have cities visible outside of the stadium.
- Season 1's special Background is made specifically for
Bean Hill Zone and is modelled after a Sonic the Hedgehog 'zone', in this case Green Hill Zone.
- Season 1's special Background is made specifically for
- Season 2's main Backgrounds are of outerspace, the Sky version has the Fall Guys Earth displayed in full glory, a few more planets and moons surround the main levels as well. The Lake version takes place inside the Satellite, with the bottom being filled with slime.
- The special Background for this Season is made specifically for
Treat Thieves, a Falloween version of
Sweet Thieves. It resembles the first three Legacy Season's Backgrounds, as it takes place in a valley with a lake filled with green coloured liquid.
- The special Background for this Season is made specifically for
- Season 3 has three Backgrounds, all of them reside in the "Dome" which the entire Season takes place in. Two main "Dome" Backgrounds exist, one filled with water, the other isn't. The Lake version now lies deeper in the Dome, with water at the bottom and statues of various Underwater-themed Fall Guys lining the area.

Trivia
- In beta versions of
Blastlantis, a few ruins can be seen in the waters surrounding the main arena, these ruins heavily imply that
Blastlantis is a fallen Course level, as hinted by the Level Instructions. These were probably scrapped due to hardware limitations of certain consoles. - Despite the Blunderdome Background being the only one with a visible slime bowl, the default Original-themed slime bowl is still present when creating SURVIVAL levels in Fall Guys Creative.
Blunder Boat is currently the only Level to change its Background, going from Original to Blunderbeach in the Tropical Tides Update.
