The announcement of variations.
Variations, also known as remixes, are modifications that are given to most Levels in Fall Guys.
General information
Variations happened to most of the Levels during mid-Season updates. Obstacles, often from that season's theme (e.g. Gravity Zones in Season 4 (Legacy) or Hex-a-tiles in Season 2), were added as variations to already existing Levels, creating alternate versions of them.
History
Variations were added in every mid-season update until Season 5.Fun, this meant that
Sum Fruit and any Season 6 (Legacy) level did not receive any major variations until Season 2.
Variations then re-appeared silently in Season 1, where a few easier variations were added, because of the surplus of newer players.
Season 2 brought back Seasonal variations, which gave a lot of Levels obstacles from said season, a few Levels also gained their first variations due to this season. Warped variations, which altered Levels with Wormholes, were also introduced in a mid-season update to coincide with Wormhole Wanderers. Both the Season 2 and Warped variations were then vaulted at the start of Season 3 and most haven't been brought back since. Traditional variations were then never seen again.
Theme variations were first introduced in Season 2 in the form of
Treat Thieves and then further expanded in the Winter Update, Fall and Fantasy Update and the Ranked Knockout Update, these variations completely overhaul the look of a Level, but did little to none to the gameplay side. Most of these variations were also only seen in certain Games.
The Tropical Tides Update is the first update to officialy unvault a handful of variations. A few unused variations finally made their first appearance and two Season 2 variations made their return since their absence ever since Season 3. Most of the Gravity Zone variations that were unvaulted were only added to Knockout, it is unclear if they'll be added to other Games in the future.
The Slime Factory Update brought back a majority of the Season 2 variations, leaving only a couple vaulted. All but one of the Gravity Zone variations that were exclusive to Knockout in the previous update were released back into other Games. Another batch of unvaults happened on 4 November 2025, where a few miscellaneous variations were unvaulted and most notably 2 Warped variations returned. This batch focused more on Team and Final levels, with them having most of their variations returned, including the special versions Hex-A-Gravity and Thin Ice Gravity.
Level variations
Level variations[1] are the main bulk of variations. The changes can be big or small and can add or remove things, like replacing the first Low-Gravity Zone of
Skyline Stumble with High-Gravity or removing all orbiting Asteroids in
Starchart.

Notes
As of the Ranked Knockout Update, a few original versions of levels were spotted in Solos, these were seemingly vaulted until recently:
- The original split-lane-ending of
Hyperdrive Heroes, which was replaced during Season 2.2.[30]
- This was eventually turned into a full Variation in the Tropical Tides Update.
- The standard third set of Moving Blocks on
Slime Climb, which was vaulted during the Fall Forever Update, and would always be replaced by the Slingus Flingus Variation.[31] The other sets of Moving Blocks were unaffected, so their variants could still get picked.
- This standard variation can still be picked in other non-Core Games.
- This variation was spotted again in the Slime Factory Update, this time however, it was spotted in Duos.[32]
- It (and the slower version) was eventually unvaulted in the same update on 4 November 2025.
- The standard Flippity Bippity ending on
Hoverboard Heroes, which was vaulted on 14 August 2024 during the July '24 Update, due to not flipping players far enough.[33] The Blizzard Fan ending could still get picked.
- This part of the standard was spotted in Solos once again in the Slime Factory Update, despite still being vaulted.[34]
As of the Yeetropolis Update, a few more seemingly removed variants were spotted in Solos:
- The removed Punching Gloves Room and two of the Warped Rooms were found in
Lost Temple on 14 June 2025.[35]
- Both of the previously removed rooms, those being the Puncher Room and Slingus Room were unvaulted on 4 November 2025 in the Slime Factory Update, the Warped rooms remained vaulted.
Trivia
- The following Levels have no traditional variations at all:
Airtime,
Bean Hill Zone,
Blast Ball,
Bounce Party,
Button Bashers,
Hex-A-Ring,
Kraken Slam,
Pixel Painters,
Royal Fumble,
Speed Circuit and
Track Attack.
Hex-A-Ring does have differing ring sizes depending on the amount of players present, but this cannot be called a 'Variation'.
Kraken Slam starts with either green, yellow or red tiles, depending on the amount of players present, but this cannot be called a 'Variation' either.
Pixel Painters has random pixel images in a random order every time for players to copy, but this cannot be called a 'Variation' since this is how the level works, similarly to
Lost Temple.
Royal Fumble is the only Season 1 (Legacy) level to not have any variations.- The following levels do have traditional variations, but they are currently all unused (so, they won't be listed here):
Blastlantis,
Hoop Chute,
Sweet Thieves and
Treat Thieves.
Sweet Thieves and
Treat Thieves have almost the same map layout but with different obstacles, so technically they could be considered variations of each other, but they are considered separate rounds, with different names, themes and soundtrack, and available in separate Games.
Blastlantis used to have a bumper instead of a kraken tentacle in Season 3, but that was a change in the standard version of the round rather than a variation, and, unlike
Hyperdrive Heroes, both versions have never been available in the game at the same point to be considered a variation.
Tip Toe and
Wall Guys are currently the only Levels to have their standard versions vaulted, the alternate variation becoming the standard for Tip Toe and the standard variation being vaulted for being too easy to traverse in Wall Guys. Both of them haven't been brought back since being removed.- The following Levels are the only ones to launch with variations:
The Swiveller and
Hex-A-Terrestrial, although the variation for the latter is now vaulted and only the standard version is available.
The Swiveller is the only Season 1 Level to have true variations.
Volleyfall has 'mode dependent variations', but these are all Standard versions for different Games, so they aren't true alternate variations.
- If the random order of chambers in
Puzzle Path and maze configurations are not counted as variations, then Season 3 is the only Unity season where none of its levels have a variation (except unused ones).
See Saw is the first Level to have one of it variations removed, this being the Vertical See-saw Variation, due to it being easily abused.
